Responsibilities
  • Plan and Deliver Lessons: Develop and implement comprehensive lesson plans that align with the national curriculum and cater to the diverse learning needs of students.
  • Assessment and Evaluation: Regularly assess and evaluate student progress, providing constructive feedback and support to help them achieve their academic goals.
  • Classroom Management: Maintain a positive and inclusive classroom atmosphere, promoting good behaviour and ensuring the safety and well-being of all students.
  • Curriculum Development: Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the Sociology and Psychology curriculum, incorporating innovative teaching methods and resources.
  • Extracurricular Activities: Participate in and support school events, clubs, and extracurricular activities that enrich student learning and school life.
  • Professional Development: Engage in continuous professional development opportunities to stay updated with the latest educational trends and best practices.
Requirements
  • Qualifications: A degree in Sociology, Psychology, or a related field. A teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE, QTS) is essential.
  • Experience: Previous experience teaching Sociology and/or Psychology at the secondary school level is highly desirable.
  • Skills: Strong communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills. Ability to inspire and motivate students.
  • Knowledge: Familiarity with the UK National Curriculum and assessment frameworks for Sociology and Psychology.
