Main duties of the job
1. Assist the Radiographer with cleaning and IPC (Infection Prevention and Control)
2. Attend to the needs of the patient, ensuring their comfort and dignity.
3. Ensure that the necessary documentation accompanies the patient.
4. Use of the Radiology Information System to record patient information.
5. Assist the Radiographer with the manual handling of patients.
6. To act as chaperone for some examinations.

Job description
Job responsibilities
To assist Radiographer in the imaging room.
Liaise with relevant staff/nurses/Consultants.
To escort patients within the Radiology clinical imaging areas, changing cubicles and examination rooms.
To assist with the moving of beds and wheelchairs and assisting the patient onto the imaging table.
To ensure the continuous flow of patients through the Radiology rooms.
To reassure the patient and provide basic information.
To ensure the relevant documentation follows the patient.
To maintain the tidiness and cleanliness of the examination room.
To maintain patient confidentiality at all times.
To comply with Health and Safety rules, the local rules for the protection of persons against ionising radiation, and the agreed policies and procedures of the Trust.

GCSE or equivalent English & Mathematics grade D or above NVQ level 2 in Health Care or equivalent
