Our Casualty team specialize in a diverse range of industry vertical experts, technical wording specialists, risk engineering advice and integrated claims support, so we can offer the most compelling casualty insurance solutions, regardless of the industry, product ling or territory.

 

Our Casualty team leverage long-standing insurer relationships and unprecedented market access so we can build the most extraordinary client risk management experience.

 

Broker Role – What is involved?

 

As a Broker in the US Casualty team you will join our successful team of Brokers and Account Executives to provide innovative, detailed and best practice service for clients across a wide ranging portfolio.  

 

Alongside core broking activities you will be exposed to new business generation, tender presentations and working with our existing client base to identify business development opportunities. Throughout this you'll build a detailed understanding of our clients needs, applying this knowledge to seek innovative ways to create added value and differentiators during the placement process.

 

As a Global company there will be plenty of opportunity for cross selling across all Property & Casualty specialisms and the wider business lines we operate in. There will also be opportunity to travel to meet clients and colleagues across the global team.  What is most important to us is your ability to understand what our clients need and provide a bespoke service to ensure these are met in the best possible way.

What are the typical responsibilities as a Broker?

 

  • Negotiating with insurers to achieve the best outcome for Lockton’s US clients.
  • Building strong partnerships with new and existing clients, Underwriters and market contacts.
  • Drive the London insurance market to offer better solutions for our US clients and prospects.
  • Become part of a collaborative team, committed to delivering service to our US Retailers.
  • Opportunity to specialize in an ever growing technology practice  such as ‘shared economy’ insurance solutions.
  • Gathering detailed understanding of the client’s risk profile, business needs and exposures to assist in providing advice on coverage, programme pricing and retention strategy
  • Analysing underwriting information in order to prepare market submissions along with an Account Executive.
  • Assist in preparing and issuing coverage documentation including wording negotiation
  • Lead Broker revenue negotiations
  • Work with the Account Executive team to ensure all required information is documented
  • Coordinating with the dedicated Claims team in the event of a loss
  • Building a strong working network of our global colleagues and partners

 

 

What skills and experience would we like you to have?

 

  • As a Broker in the US Casualty team it would be desirable for you to have experience of working on US Casualty business from a Broking, Underwriting or wider Insurance background
  • Experience of working on business emanating from the US, Latin America, or Canada will be beneficial
  • Previous involvement with running or managing tenders will be helpful
  • Desire to join a dynamic, entrepreneurial team in a growing organisation
