Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a physiotherapist with significant post registration experience to lead the physiotherapy team within the Lakeside Wing Rehabilitation Unit at the University Hospital of Wales in Cardiff. The post holder will be required to have a broad range of rehabilitation skills and experience of working within medicine. This will include the ability to adapt to different environments and provide rehabilitation in an innovative way to inspire those they work with and achieve the best possible outcomes for the patients we serve.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will be expected to carry a varied and complex caseload, lead a team of registered and non-registered physiotherapy staff while also working effectively as part of the multidisciplinary team.

The successful candidate will need to:

be professionally responsible for overseeing the day-to-day delivery of a high-quality physiotherapy service to lakeside wing have previous senior clinical and leadership experience. be able to provide expert clinical supervision, support and advice to the physiotherapy team have excellent organisational, communication and influencing skills work well within a multidisciplinary team collaborate closely with key leaders/managers which will include identifying areas for service development and improvement, implementing transformational change act as an expert for physiotherapists and other members of the multi-disciplinary team within this specialist field advocate and support patients' rights by promoting shared decision making, respecting individual choice and beliefs, ensuring privacy and dignity at all times be able to adapt and flex to meet the demands of winter in medicine

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Recognised qualification degree / equivalent in physiotherapy HCPC registration Specialist training/courses to Postgraduate Diploma level or relevant experience Evidence of M level learning or relevant higher-level qualification and experience

Membership of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy

Significant post registration clinical experience in a physiotherapy position at senior level within the specialist area Experience of providing clinical supervision Evidence of clinical leadership and assisting in planning and developing of an existing service. Change management experience Experience of teaching other disciplines Experience as working as part of a multidisciplinary team NHS Experience
