Java Developer - 12-Month Contract in Birmingham- 5 Days a Week On-site (Financial sector experience required)
Are you a skilled Java Developer with a passion for innovation? Our client, a leading financial services company, is seeking a talented individual to join their operations division. You’ll play a crucial role in driving industrialisation through automation, digitisation, and orchestration.
About the Role:
Project Variety: Engage with a wide range of active projects and contribute to a long pipeline of proposed business solutions. Margin Platform Development: Participate in designing, developing, testing, and documenting our cutting-edge margin platform. Technical Evolution: Evolve the margin platform to meet business, client, regulatory, operational, and technical needs. Full SDLC Involvement: Be part of the entire software development life cycle, from defining requirements to deployment and ongoing support. Expertise Building: Gain technical expertise and practical experience in managing mission-critical platforms from experts both within and outside the team. Collaboration: Work closely with business stakeholders, operations users, and fellow developers globally.Skills and Experience Required:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science (or equivalent work experience). Minimum of 8 years of professional development experience. Demonstrable core Java (JDK 8 and above) development skills, including a solid understanding of Core Java concepts and design patterns. Experience with RESTful web services. Strong RDBMS skills (DB2 preferred), including writing and analyzing complex queries with multi-table joins and aggregate functions. Excellent technical, analytical, and communication skills; self-starter mentality. Previous experience in the financial services sector is a plus.Why Join Us?
