Job overview

Working in a small nurse -led specialist team to provide excellence in clinical, education, improvement and leadership in Tissue Viability. Employed as a trainee role, to successfully commence the Advanced Clinical Practice (ACP) Master’s Degree (MSc Level ) programme in line with the Health Education England (HEE) Multi-professional Framework for Advanced Clinical Practice, and their primary professional regulatory body To work towards fulfilling the expectations and core capabilities of an ACP as set out in the HEE Multi-professional Framework for Advanced Clinical Practice in England. This will be achieved through workplace-based assessments in clinical practice, with a named clinical supervisor, and clinical supervision in own service/speciality area The trainee role will be supported in their professional development and wellbeing, in order to prepare for transition to a qualified ACP role on achievement of the academic requirements, and evidence of workplace-based capability and competence within their service/speciality. The trainee will be expected to demonstrate and develop proficiency across the four pillars of Advanced Clinical Practice, namely Clinical, Leadership and Management, Education and Research Main duties of the job

Clinical

Work clinically, working towards an advanced level of practice.

Work in partnership with individuals, families and carers

Develop effective communication skills, supporting people in making decisions, promoting person-centred approaches in health and care

Act as a clinical role model/advocate for developing and delivering care that is responsive to changing requirements

Leadership and Management

Role-model the values of the OUHFT, demonstrating a person-centred approach to service delivery and improvement

Participates in clinical governance reviews and the investigation of clinical incidents and serious incidents; 

Recognises the critical importance of wellbeing in self and others

Education

Critically assess and address own learning needs, working to a personal development plan that reflects the breadth of professional development across the four pillars of advanced clinical practice, relevant to own clinical service

Advocate for, and contribute to, a culture of departmental, service, and organisational learning, to inspire future and existing staff

Research

Develop and support a ‘knowledge rich enquiry culture’ where research values are fostered, promoted and encouraged

Facilitate collaborative links between clinical practice and research, through proactive engagement, and networking with academic, clinical and other active researchers

Disseminate best practice research findings and quality improvement projects

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our Tissue Viability Team. The post holder will be an experienced nurse who, acting within their professional boundaries, will provide expert advice and care for patients with compromised tissue viability. The post holder will demonstrate critical thinking in the clinical decision-making process and will work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to meet the needs of patients. The post holder will support the delivery and development of evidenced based policy, procedures and education, to promote patient safety and provide and inspire excellence in Tissue Viability.

The post holder will have a proven track record in change management and improving clinical outcomes.

This job offers the successful candidate an opportunity to further develop these skills and experience in a developing and dynamic service in preparation for commencing Masters level ACP programme of study.
