Job Purpose

The role of Turbine O&M Technician will Site Based and will be to deliver Turbine O&M contract requirements and support the delivery of Major component and inspection activities. The successful candidate will be required to provide technical fault fining to help to resolve ongoing issues and/or implement improvements. We are looking for candidates who have a strong technical background in mechanical and/or electrical systems, preferably in a turbine discipline, and with good analytical fault-finding capabilities on Electrical, Mechanical and Hydraulic systems. Organisational Context Resource required to deliver contract requirements and become a full-time resource allocated to completion of scheduled and unscheduled maintenance. The technician will also assist in the delivery on chargeable services within the allocated projects but may also support other projects depending on workload and availability. Key Accountabilities The role would suit experienced Wind turbine technician who has aspirations in further developing his/her own capabilities in the delivery of high-quality maintenance activities and willing to contribute positively to the continued development of the business. Be a good communicator both written and verbally and be proficient in customer interface at site level and in pre-task co-ordination. The suitable candidate will be comfortable in preparing Risk assessment, Method statements and other client required procedures and be willing to adapt a high level of Health, Safety, Quality and environmental awareness.A flexible approach to work will be required as travel within the UK/Ireland may be necessary depending on the project needs. Other areas of knowledge would be advantageous, but not essential as training will be provided for the right candidate will include; Gamesa G5X/G8X experience or other turbine models Experience working on Mechanical, Electrical and Hydraulic systems Working knowledge of gearbox inspections. (An advantage) Proficient in analytical fault finding Can assist with the resolution of onsite technical issues and implement technical improvements Identify and specifying tooling requirements Preparation of reporting templates and other technical documentation Has worked in a health and safety focused environment. Knowledge Essential: Turbine O&M Background Team leader Co-ordination of subcontractors H&S Awareness (RA, CoSSH, MS) WTSR Desirable: People management Quality focused Skills  Essential: Mechanical & Electrical system fault finding Strong approach to safe working practices Excellent communication skills Positive, can-do attitude Ability to work both independently and as part of a team Able to respond to changing priorities and emergent issues Enthusiasm for personal development Strong problem-solving skills Computer skills for writing reports, reporting progress and communicating by email Experience  Essential: Previous Wind Turbine maintenance experience, Experience of working remotely without close supervision Desirable: WTSR Experience (AT/AE) Experience Fault finding Qualifications  Essential: Full UK driving licence  Desirable: Technical qualification, Mechanical/Electrical or relevant experience.
