Senior SHE Advisor

Due to significant growth and contract winsOCU Services (part of the wider OCU Group) has new opportunitiesfor experience Senior SHE Advisors to join us at our Borehamwoodoffice to assist thewider HSE Team. You will manage the OCUServices SHE Team for your area of responsibility ensuringacceptable performancestandard.

Responsibilities

• Notifyany changes in your duties to all others who may be affected bythese changes.
• Shall ensure strict adherence tothe reporting and recording procedures for accidents and dangerousoccurrences as required under RIDDOR as directed by the SHEManager.
• Shall be responsible for providingspecialist advice on the companys safety policy and procedures andcompliance with statutory obligations throughout thecompany.
• Shall monitor arrangements to ensurethat health and safety standards applied by contractors aresatisfactory and in accordance with contractual arrangementscompany specifications policy andprocedures.
• Monitor sites for compliance toensure the relevant required documentation is in place.Ensure sitenotice boards are current and are erected in the appropriateplace
• Shall ensure that site employees work inaccordance with the companys health and safety requirements policysand procedures along with those of itsClients.
• Shall recommend disciplinaryprocedures where any member of site supervisory staff fails todischarge their safety responsibilitiessatisfactorily.
• Shall take appropriate actionwhen notified of disregard of safety onsite.
• Shall ensure the provision of a safe andhealthy working environment for persons working in or visiting anycompany operation site and/or premises.
• Shallmonitor provision and effectiveness of adequate and existingwelfare facilities.
• Promote the reporting ofnear misses throughout the company.
• You arerequired to work at any site on which the Company operates asauthorised and as determined by the needs of the business. You willnot be required to work outside the UnitedKingdom.
• Attend clients contract meetings asand when required prepare and deliver presentationaccordingly.
• Shall be accountable to the SHEHead of Major Projects in respect of health safety andenvironmental matters.
• Responsible forexercising a general duty of care for the health safetyenvironmental and welfare of employees under your controlinstituting effective arrangements for the efficient implementationof company health and safety strategies operational procedures andsafe systems of work.
• Shall recommenddisciplinary procedures where any member of site supervisory stafffails to discharge their safety responsibilitiessatisfactorily.
• Shall take appropriate actionwhen notified of disregard of safety onsite.
• Shall monitor provision and effectivenessof adequate and existing welfarefacilities
• Promote the reporting of near missesthroughout thecompany.

RequiredQualifications

• NCRQlevel 6 / NVQ level 6 / NEBOSHdiploma
  
• Minimum 5 years experienceworking in the utilities sector ( Power sector preferred)
• Minimum 5 years experience Working within LiveSubstations ( Desirable)
• Experience workingwith management systems and the NERS Accreditation ( Desirable )
• Experience working in DNOs and IDNOs
• EUSR or CSCS in General Health and Safety
• Proficient in compiling reports
• MUST HOLD CURRENT FULL UK DRIVERS LICENSE
