Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Oracle Database Administrator to manage and optimize our database infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have expertise in database monitoring, performance tuning, backup validation, and ensuring the overall health and availability of Oracle database systems. This role will involve working in a dynamic environment to support mission-critical applications.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Database Monitoring and Optimization:
  • Monitor database performance, resource utilization, and storage capacity to ensure optimal operation.
  • Identify and resolve bottlenecks, improving query performance and system response times.
Backup and Recovery:
  • Implement and validate backup and recovery strategies using Oracle RMAN or equivalent tools.
  • Ensure data integrity and availability by regularly testing recovery procedures.
Performance Tuning:
  • Conduct advanced performance tuning of Oracle databases to meet application requirements.
  • Optimize schema designs, indexing strategies, and query execution plans.
Database Maintenance:
  • Manage database patching, upgrades, and migrations to maintain system stability and security.
  • Perform periodic refreshes of test and development environments from production.
Security and Compliance:
  • Implement database security policies to protect sensitive information.
  • Ensure compliance with organizational and regulatory data security standards.
Incident Management and Troubleshooting:
  • Resolve database-related incidents and technical issues promptly.
  • Collaborate with application teams to support integration and troubleshoot performance issues.
Documentation and Reporting:
  • Maintain accurate documentation for database configurations, changes, and procedures.
  • Provide regular reports on database health, performance, and capacity planning.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Certifications: Oracle Certified Associate (OCA) or Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) in Database Administration is mandatory.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in Oracle database administration.
  • Skills:
    • Strong knowledge of Oracle database architecture, tuning, and optimization.
    • Proficiency in Oracle RMAN, Data Guard, and other backup/recovery tools.
    • Experience with database security, auditing, and compliance requirements.
    • Expertise in SQL tuning and query optimization.
    • Familiarity with Linux/Unix environments and shell scripting is a plus.
    • Excellent troubleshooting and analytical skills.
