Main duties of the job

An exciting opportunity has become available for a Capital Accountant to join our well established team on a fixed term / secondment opportunity fir up to 12 months.

The successful applicant will be responsible for the development, implementation and monitoring of all capital elements of the Capital Budget as well as reviewing and evaluating Capital Business cases.

Applicants must hold an AAT qualification and membership and / or finance/accountancy related university degree along with a minimum of 5 years of general finance experience.

Job responsibilities

TheCapital Accountant is responsible for the development, implementation, andmonitoring of all capital elements of the Capital Budget, and medium-termfinancial strategy which they will work with senior officers to produce. Thiswill include reviewing and evaluating all Capital Business Cases.

Therole will also include maintenance and development of the Trust's Fixed AssetRegister (FAR), including the setting up of new projects/assets, ensuring thatthe records are complete, up to date and accurate and being accountable for theintegrity of the capital elements of the Trusts core accounting systems andrecords.

Therole will take primary responsibility for providing accurate and timelyinformation on all capital works including projects and monitor costs againstbudget, cash-flow related matters against budgets, reforecasting and long-termplan indicators.

Therole will also be responsible for the maintenance and production of capitalfinancial performance reports including management and statutory accounts,regulatory returns and annual budgets and reforecasts and provide capitalinformation as required for statutory returns within agreed deadlines
