Salary Range: £90 - £110 per day (Depending on experience)

Contract: Day-to-day/Long-term, Part-time/Full-time

GSL Education South Yorkshire Branch are seeking a Graduate Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and supportive school in Chesterfield (S40), starting in November 2024.This is an exciting opportunity to gain hands-on experience and make a positive impact in the lives of young learners.

As a Graduate Teaching Assistant, you will be working closely with teachers and pupils, supporting classroom activities, and helping children reach their full potential. Whether you are looking to start your career in teaching or simply want to contribute to a rewarding learning environment, this role could be perfect for you

Responsibilities of the Graduate Teaching Assistant:

  • Assist the class teacher in delivering engaging lessons.
  • Provide one-to-one or small group support to pupils.
  • Help with classroom management and maintaining a positive learning environment.
  • Support children with additional needs to ensure all students can participate fully.
  • Assist in preparing teaching materials and resources.
  • Encourage and motivate pupils to stay focused and achieve their goals.

Requirements of the Graduate Teaching Assistant:

  • A recent graduate with a degree in a relevant field (education, psychology, special education, etc.).
  • A genuine passion for education and supporting students.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A positive attitude, adaptability, and willingness to learn 
  • Previous experience in a school or childcare setting is desirable but not essential.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
  • Have an updated CV and an enhanced DBS registered to the update service (or be willing to apply for one).
