About the team

Roku is seeking a highly skilled Payroll Specialist to join and become a key member of our Global Payroll team. The role will be responsible for processing data for the monthly payrolls across our European entities including Belgium, Denmark, Netherlands, UK, Ukraine, and New Zealand for a total headcount of approximately 430 employees.

This position will report to the Global Payroll Director and can be based in our Cambridge or London office.

About the role

This is an operational position that requires a hands-on approach to payroll. You will be expected to work within a clear framework, providing expert advice on payroll legislation and driving accuracy, efficiency, and timeliness of payroll processing with an outsourced payroll provider.

You will have proven experience of administrating the complete payroll cycle for an outsourced payroll solution.

What you’ll be doing

Assist Senior EMEA Payroll Specialist with the monthly processing of our European payrolls, including but not limited to, base salary, stock compensation, payroll taxes, pension, statutory and supplemental benefits. Work with our outsourced payroll provider TMF and internal stakeholders to process and support the monthly payroll for the EMEA region. Knowledge of statutory tax and social security withholdings, related tax filings, tax policy, and employment regulations. Basic understanding of accounting principles, the ability to understand the impact of payroll activity on financial statements and the ability to partner with the Finance team to resolve issues as they arise. Good up to date knowledge and understanding of employee benefit legislation and taxation. Advanced Excel skills to be able to create and apply relevant principals to support required payroll reporting. Understanding of the requirements of GDPR when handling confidential employee data. Assist Payroll team with year-end processes. Experience of working for a multinational would be a significant advantage. Answer employee inquiries as needed.

3+ years’ experience in EMEA Payroll needed Deep understanding of regional nuances From time to time, there will be a requirement to travel across the region, specifically when projects are identified. This would be the exception rather than the norm, so requiring a level of flexibility. Excellent attention to detail to ensure accuracy of Payroll Organized and methodical working style with the ability to manage multiple deadlines. Confident in dealing with internal and external stakeholders at all levels. Strong client service mentality: ability to develop strong working relationships.
