This role will give you the chance to play a key role on ground-breaking and high-profile defence projects with values in the hundreds of millions. You'll be part of an industry-leading team, working with Marshall and other major defence stakeholders and Primes.

As our Detail Fitter, you will be manufacturing sheet metal fabricated components and sub-assemblies to engineering data and in accordance with internal and external OEM quality requirements. These will generally be low quantity production quantities, one off components including prototype manufacture.

Apply if you have experience with most of the following:

  • Assembly experience essential, preferably in Aerospace
  • Bench work sub-assemblies, working with small to medium sized precision components.
  • Assembly of components using specialised fasteners, blind and solid rivets, hi-locks, anchor nuts etc
  • Manual drilling, reaming & countersinking using handheld and air powered tools.
  • Bonding/sealing using aerospace sealants and adhesives.
  • Torque tightened bolts and nuts.
  • Electrical Bonding and checks
  • Assemble of prototype components in conjunction with the Manufacturing Engineers
  • Use of jigs and fixture
  • Fabrication of sheet metal components i.e., folding, hand forming, shrinking/stretching would be an advantage but training can be provided.
  • Work to Marshall & OEM engineering data and in some instances 3D models
  • Working to a schedule of work to meet on-time delivery and to the required quality requirements.
  • Comply with all quality and HSE policies and procedures.
