Soft Play Lead

Active Day Camps are a reputable Childcare Provider, well-known for their Multi-Activity Camps across North and South West London, we pride ourselves on creating a strong community feel and building strong relationships with local parents across our camps. This year, we have launched our Activities Hire Service: Active Events.

Active Events are very excited to announce that from September 2024 we will be running Mini Active Toddlers, indoor Soft Play Sessions on Tuesday and Thursday Mornings at one of our amazing Hampstead locations. We are actively recruiting for a Soft Play Lead to run these sessions. As the Soft Play Lead, you will be responsible for overseeing and facilitating children’s activities in a soft play environment. Soft play areas are designed for young children to encourage active play, exploration, and social interaction in a safe and controlled setting.

The environment is usually lively, with noise and activity. The role can be physically demanding but also rewarding, as it involves contributing to children’s development and enjoyment.

Responsibilities:

  • To be accountable for the successful delivery of the Soft Play Sessions, delivery and achievement of session objectives
  • Monitoring children to ensure they play safely, following the rules of the play area, and avoiding any hazardous behaviour
  • Provide customers with an enjoyable, exciting and safe experience
  • Engaging with children by leading activities, games, or storytelling sessions that are age-appropriate and fun
  • Ensure a consistently high standard of safety, maintenance and cleanliness in all areas. Including checking equipment, and sanitising the relevant areas between each play session
  • Interacting with children, parents and guardians, addressing any concerns, and providing them with information about the play area
  • Being prepared to handle minor injuries or incidents by administering first aid or knowing to respond in case of emergencies

Skills:

  • Available every Tuesday and Thursday Morning during School Term Time
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills, an approachable and friendly attitude
  • Proven planning, decision making and organisational skills
  • A background in childcare, education or a similar field
  • Demonstrate a passion for providing children with positive experiences
  • A positive attitude and patience are essential when dealing with children of varying ages and temperaments
  • A willingness to learn and develop
  • Willing to undertake appropriate training and adhere to company policies and procedures
  • Being a reliable and consistent team member

Experience:

  • Previous experience of working with children preferably within a nursery/playgroup/leisure centre environment
  • Early Years Qualified (Desirable)

  • Experience with programme management
