An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 5 Space Planning Project Officer. We are seeking a proactive and organised project officer, whose primary role will be to manage and support space & accommodation projects and related project administration for the space and accommodation team. The role will be supporting the overall development, management and delivery of the Trust space and accommodation programme of work. The role will support the Operational Head of Facilities, Space & Accommodation Project Manager and team in meeting the Trust priorities set.
The successful candidate will be based at the Sutton site and must be able to travel flexibly across our other sites and attended mandated face to face meetings and projects as required.
Main duties of the job
This is a key role in supporting and delivering a number of change projects within the Trust over the next 5 years to enhance our Estate, improve space utilisation and meet the needs of different roles & service demands. Previous space and/or accommodation experience is desirable.
To provide a dedicated, professional project and administration support in relation to the day-to-day activities of space & accommodation ensuring a timely, good quality, consistent and accurate service with a strong focus on confidentiality and discretion at all times.
The role holder will have demonstrable evidence of delivering projects to time & high quality as well as managing a busy workload. Organisational skills will be required to maximise delivery in the various projects & it will be essential to be able to manage competing demands and prioritise effectively.
This operational role has daily interactions with staff at all levels so clear, concise communication is important. With a large proportion of work related to change management, the successful candidate must demonstrate strong interpersonal skills with the ability to listen carefully and show understanding. It is vital to identify significant factors and pull out any underlying risks within differing forms of communication. Negotiation and collaboration skills are key to achieving positive outcomes whilst ensuring all stakeholders feel engaged and empowered .
Detailed job description and main responsibilities
•To lead and manage the day-to-day project delivery of business as usual (BAU) space & accommodation across the Trust, undertaking key tasks, locating space, negotiating release of space, planning moves, decant arrangements and implementing changes across sites.
•Responsible for providing a dedicated, professional and efficient project management support and delivery.
•Responsible for ensuring a timely, good quality, consistent and accurate service with a strong focus on confidentiality and discretion at all times.
•To promote a culture focused on education & change across the organisation to help develop and change the way space is used and managed throughout the Trust and improve the environment for staff and patients.
•This is a Facilities Management Operational role and requires 100% on site attendance.

Education/Qualifications
Essential criteria
Educated to A level standard or equivalent Excellent IT/Word/Excel processing skills, proven level of computer literacy Comprehensive knowledge and capabilities using Microsoft office software, proficiency with spreadsheets, databases and presentation software. Significant experience of Project Officer Role at a senior level
Desirable criteria
Project Management Qualification or studying towards, or equivalent experience.
