Service Workshop Engineer

We are looking for an experienced Service Workshop Engineer to work in our workshop in Scotland. 

We are looking for someone who has a background in welding along with knowledge and experience of working with commercial vehicles.

What you will be doing: 

  • Servicing and repairs to both Whale and Non-Whale equipment
  • The ability to identify faults to all systems correctly and manage the supply of parts to fix first time an in-line with the schedule agreed with the client
  • Identifying opportunities for additional work and reporting this
  • Maintaining a clean, organised and productive work area
  • Maintain equipment calibration, service and inspection requirements in-line with company requirements.
  • Provide input to customer quotations with parts and labour estimates.
  • Offsite work required when all technicians on the road are busy.
  • Any other ad-hoc duties as required

We are looking for someone who has / is: 

  • Knowledge and experience of working with commercial vehicles, plant machinery or HGV vehicles 
  • An engineering background, including knowledge of pneumatic, hydraulic and electrical circuits 
  • A background in welding is desirable, but not essential 
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the desire to learn on a day-to-day basis 
  • Practical and decisive nature with the ability to manage your own time 
  • The ability to work at heights and in confined spaces would be desirable
