The position is based at our SEN School in Ditton Priors, near Bridgnorth.

This is a new school and is our fourth Esland school. Esland schools currently support a number of vulnerable young people aged 8-18 years with SEMH.

Qualification and ExperienceQualified Teacher StatusDegree qualification or equivalentDemonstrable achievements in excellence as a teacherExperience as a KS4/KS5 teacherSkills, Knowledge and AbilitiesExpert understanding of innovative pedagogyExperience of assessment without levels including tracking pupil progressKnowledge and understanding of statutory assessment arrangements at KS4 & KS4Knowledge and understanding of effective strategies to manage the behaviour of pupilsExcellent knowledge of inclusion including SEMH, EAL, bilingual learners, minority ethnic achievement and equality (race, disability, and gender)Excellent understanding of safeguarding especially the safety and welfare of vulnerable and disadvantaged pupilsExpert knowledge of strategies for closing the gapThe ability and willingness to teach a range of subjectsAn understanding of a range of SEND needs, including SEMHContribution to the educational and social development of each young person The ability to form effective relationships with young people, their families (if appropriate) and external agenciesTo ensure that young people’s views and wishes are sought and acted upon where appropriateEnsure that appropriate resources and environment exist for individual pupils referred to the service, and that opportunity for inclusion are available to all our studentsTo liaise with other teachers and teaching assistants in the team to ensure effective deployment of resourcesPersonal qualities
