We’re looking for a Food and Beverage Team Member. In this role, you’d be making a real difference to the work of the National Trust, as well as helping to give people a memorable day out.

Hours: This role is based on annualised hours, where the amount of hours you work each month may vary, however your salary will be paid in 12 equal instalments over the year. This role is a fixed term position until 4th January 2026. The hours you work will depend on the time of the year, ie during the quieter months your hours will be less than the main season ie March to October however your salary will remain the same for each month. We're looking for flexibility as it may be necessary for us to alter this pattern from time to time to suit the needs of the business. We'd give you as much notice of this as possible. The role will include weekends and Bank Holidays plus you'll work your share of late shifts (working 11.30am-7.30pm approx) in December for the Knightshayes Christmas lights.

Salary: £11.50 per hour.

Duration: Fixed Term Contract until 4 January 2025

The stables cafe offers a varied menu & our cakes/scones are homemade. We're also fortunate to have an organic Kitchen garden- we use as much of the seasonal produce as possible on our menus.

Your shifts would generally be 10am-6pm however this may alter according to the property opening times.

You'll enjoy working with the general public & will want to give our Visitors an exceptional service as well as playing your part in our Team.



What you'll be doing

As a Team Member, your main focus will be front of house, dealing directly with people. You’ll welcome and look after everyone who comes to the café. With your love of working with people, your ‘can-do’ attitude and your desire to provide an outstanding service, you’ll be making sure everyone has an enjoyable time. This is a lively business that’s constantly on the go, so teamwork and adaptability are crucial. 
You’ll be keen to understand what people want, to help them and to make recommendations. You’ll always keep the standards of food and drink preparation and presentation high. Using your excellent eye for detail, you’ll make sure all displays and signs are accurate and looking good. At times, you may need to help the kitchen team with preparing food.
We’ll give you an induction that fits the job, and training in allergens and food safety, plus any mentoring needed to help you in your role. You can sign up for further professional training and development if you wish.
