We are seeking a highly skilled Highways Surfacing Technology Manager to join our Breedon Technology Services and spearhead our surfacing technology initiatives.

As the Highways Surfacing Technology Manager, you will oversee all aspects of highway surfacing technology and will be a key link between Breedon Technology Services and the Breedon Surfacing Solutions business. Whilst the role reports into Breedon Technology Services, the successful candidate will need to immerse themselves into the surfacing business to:
  • Support and address the directs needs of the surfacing business from a technology perspective.
  • Support the selection, implementation, and roll-out of both existing and new technologies.
  • Become a subject matter expert in surfacing technologies (both back office and front line).

Key Responsibilities
  • Technology Leadership: Assist the business with the research, evaluation, and delivery of new technologies, considering the business strategy and giving particular consideration to the integration of technologies and data to core business systems. Implement innovative solutions to enhance the quality, placement, and sustainability of the surfacing business.
  • Operational Excellence: Manage the integration of technology across surfacing operations, supporting the implementation of both existing and new technologies.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Act as a bridge between Breedon Technology Services and Breedon Surfacing Solutions, ensuring the technology meets the direct needs of the surfacing business.
  • Innovation and Expertise: Become a subject matter expert in surfacing technologies, driving forward the adoption of innovative solutions to enhance efficiency and profitability.

What You Bring
  • Extensive experience in the highway surfacing industry, particularly in managing and delivering complex operational technology projects.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to drive project delivery in a fast-paced and geographically diverse environment.
  • Demonstrable understanding of highway works, highway surfacing plant and equipment and associated business processes.
  • Experience of commercial, quantity surveying, materials supply would be advantageous.
  • Excellent communication skills, capable of engaging with stakeholders at all levels within the organisation.
