About the role

We are seeking a Research Fellow to join the Lab and to work on assessing the role of muscle in CMT disease to inform clinical trials.

Using a conditional GARS1 mutant mouse and tissue specific Cre driver lines, you will gauge the relative importance of muscle and motor nerves in CMT2D pathology.

The role is available from 01 October and funded by Muscular Dystrophy UK for two years in the first instance.

About you

You will hold a PhD in Neuroscience, Biology or related discipline, and a Home Office Personal Licence. Experience in neurobiology research, mouse dissections, confocal microscopy, image analysis, intravital imaging, and with the mouse neuromuscular system is essential.

This role meets the eligibility requirements for a skilled worker certificate of sponsorship or a global talent visa under UK Visas and Immigration legislation. Therefore, UCL welcomes applications from international applicants who require a visa.

What we offer

Appointment as Research Fellow is dependent upon having been awarded a PhD; if this is not the case, initial appointment will be as Research Assistant (salary £37, - £39, per annum) with appointment as Research Fellow being backdated to the date of final submission of the PhD thesis.
