About the Role

External candidates applying for this role must be a Rochdale Resident who lives within the municipal boundaries of the Borough of Rochdale.

Facilities Management are looking to appoint a Caretaker to work at Holy Family RC Primary School, Kirkholt, Rochdale

37 hours per week 7am-9.30am (Fri 9 am) & 1pm-6pm. Holidays to be taken throughout school holiday periods in line with the school holiday pattern.

Please note hours maybe subject to change dependant on the needs of the service. Overtime may be required time to time and the appropriate rate will be paid.

About you

We are looking for someone who is hard-working, energetic and honest person with excellent customer care skills and the ability to provide a quality service at this busy school site.

The successful candidate will:

  • Responsible for maintaining an excellent standard of cleanliness of designated areas in the building and duties will include toilets and associated facilities against an agreed cleaning specification and good attention to detail.
  • Able to complete practical handyman tasks.
  • Ability to work to tight timescales is essential and a flexible approach
  • Be able to work independently using initiative and as part of a team
  • Able to communicate clearly with and relate positively to all members of the school team.
  • Knowledge of Health & Safety at work
  • Ability to recognise the importance of ensuring a secure and safe environment of the site to include record keeping and the completion of compliance tasks.

Experience is essential, although persons with skills appropriate and a willing attitude are invited to apply.

Appointment to this post is subject to an enhanced DBS including a barred list check child workforce.

Candidates who are unsuccessful after interview may be considered for casual caretaker/cleaner positions within Facilities Management.
