JOB TITLE: Toolmaker Apprentice

SITE LOCATION: Swish Tamworth, B79 7TF (Part of Epwin Group)

HOURS: Monday to Friday 40 hours per week

Job Purpose:

Epwin Group is one of the UK’s largest manufacturers and suppliers of PVC windows, doors and fascia systems with some of the best-known manufacturing and service names in the sector. Group businesses also produce high quality cladding, guttering, decking and prefabricated GRP building components.

You will be highly trained to work in the world of manufacturing; This position will be best suited to applicants with good practical skills and an interest in engineering-based projects. As a trained Toolmaker, you will be responsible for maintaining plant and equipment.

Key Accountabilities:

Produce components using hand fitting techniquesPreparing and using lathes for turning operationsCo-ordinate with suppliers to supply spare parts for machinesPreparing and using milling machines and using Grinding machinesCarry out the maintenance of Tooling & building repairsIdentifying and liaise with suppliers of maintenance services when requiredProducing tool and die assembliesMaintain and record work and machine breakdown historyPreparing and proving CNC machine tool programs
