Southfield, United Kingdom Co-op Academies Trust Full time

Co-op Academy Southfield (11-19 special school) is looking for a skilled Safeguarding, Behaviour and Welfare Practitioner to join us in the Autumn Term as Pastoral Welfare Leader S02 SCP 26-28 (37 hours per week, Term Time plus INSET days).

Pastoral Welfare Leaders act as deputy Designated Safeguarding Leads for the school.

Pastoral Welfare Leaders work under the guidance of senior staff within an agreed system of supervision, working flexibly in response to the needs of pupils and their families. When pupils are regulated, Pastoral Welfare Leaders support Pastoral Intervention Mentors to develop and deliver preventative and early intervention strategies to improve pupil behaviour, welfare and attendance.

This includes working with and making appropriate referrals to specialist services and agencies. At times of crisis, Pastoral Welfare Leaders work collaboratively with Pastoral Intervention Mentors in supporting pupils to regulate their behaviour through the effective use of TeamTeach and other strategies.
