Instrument/Electrical Technician, Grangemouth Temporary PETROINEOS - REFINING OUR TALENT - DEVELOPING YOUR FUTURE Petroineos Refining and Trading is one of the largest independent refiners trading in Europe. We are seeking experienced Instrument/Electrical Technicians to join our Offsites team at our Grangemouth site on a temporary basis. The I/E Technician has responsibility to install, maintain, fault find, overhaul and improve instrument and electrical plant equipment to allow the manufacturing process to operate in a safe and reliable manner to meet the business demand. Also, responsible to carry out aforementioned remit safely, efficiently and cost effectively while complying with all company procedures and international standards. The key accountabilities of the role are: Perform all executable work in compliance with the RAP Net permit, work pack, procedure and/or method statement in an appropriate time as defined by the schedule Actively participate in the technical appraisal of new Work Orders & Service Requests to diagnose a remediation scope when requested Prepare assessment of all future work scopes as requested taking appropriate action to close out issues as identified. Evaluate and communicate all fault finding investigation results defining the most appropriate solution taking into account availability and cost exposure to prevent reoccurrence Promote and undertake predictive / preventive maintenance of equipment and actively support operations technicians using technical knowledge to increase reliability and availability of equipment Promptly report back to Supervisor in respect of any delays to and/or significant issues identified in allocated tasks to maximize personal/team productivity, improve the maintenance process and improve asset availability, reliability and efficiency Liaise with external suppliers and third parties to identify spare parts, drawings, specialist tooling to improve maintenance activity execution Proactive daily feedback to the Supervisor or Asset Scheduler updating on progress and/or completion of planned and emergent work scopes Complete all required QA and Work Pack documentation as required. (E.g. Job Reports, check sheets, instrumentation reports, test documents.) Proactively execute all IT software system expectations. This includes failure codes, job reports and work order progression and completion. Create or update maintenance documentation (removing mistakes or omissions) and if required, request the appropriate master documentation is updated following verification at the appropriate level (Supervisor / Planner / Engineer) Ensure all daily workshop consumables and PPE are stocked and replenished as required Responsible for your own personal development including actively driving your own competence and training whilst also fully engaging in the annual appraisal process including the delivery of personal objectives Work to an agreed training plan to gain electrical authorisation to enable electrical scopes of work on 11KV rated installations. Requirements to work within the conditions of the plant, including working at height, working within confined spaces and using breathing apparatus. Be fully competent on all asset work shop machinery safe working practices including pre-use checks and routine maintenance requirements. Cover at least one non-core activity. These include COSHH Assessor, PUWER Assessor, Manual Handling Assessor, Apprentice Assessor, Safety Rep Lead on the daily training of apprentices within their asset area Complete a 5 Why investigation for CEB work scope When requested, participate in TBRA¿s and/or constructability sessions Special Features Flexibility required to accommodate short-notice changes to working pattern to accommodate unplanned plant outages Periods of shift work required to accommodate TAR outages Periods of secondment within other site teams. (TAR, Reliability or Maintenance improvement.) Periods of training and stand-in for Supervisor Periods of supervision of contractors whilst working alongside each other Qualifications/Knowledge/Skills Required Formal Instrument / Electrical Apprenticeship SVQ Level 3 Electrical Engineering (or equivalent.) SVQ Level 3 Instrument and Control Engineering (or equivalent.) HNC Electrical Engineering (or equivalent.) HNC Measurement and Control Engineering (or equivalent.) Capable of reading detailed technical drawings/diagrams, P&IDs, Electrical Schematics Drawings, Instrumentation Loop Drawings Excellent communication skills Desirable Experience of working on a top tier COMAH site IT literate and proficient in computer systems Experience of Maximo CMMS Current driving license preferred
