Are you passionate about supporting children and young people on a one-to-one basis outside of mainstream schools? If you have experience working with children and young people with additional needs and are looking for flexible work, this ASD tutor role could be perfect for you.

About the Role:

As an ASD Tutor, you will:

  • Provide face-to-face support to children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).
  • Develop and plan resources tailored to each child's needs, focusing on learning through play or other effective methods, particularly in Maths and English.
  • Employ skills and techniques to keep the child engaged and ensure they can access the learning material.
  • Implement and manage a range of behaviour strategies to support the child's educational progress.

Location:

The location will vary based on the pupil's needs and will be pre-agreed before the commencement of tuition. However, all pupils will be based in Nottinghamshire, particularly in the Warsop (NG20) area, which is well-connected by road, bus, or tram.

Requirements:

  • Experience with Special Educational Needs (SEN) as a teaching assistant, one-to-one tutor, or in a similar role.
  • Ability to plan and deliver engaging lessons.
  • Skills to help pupils get back on track with their education.
  • Capability to monitor pupils' progress and provide feedback.
  • Desirable: Experience working with children with challenging behaviour.

To be successful, you must provide evidence of your skills and experience. All applicants will undergo background checks and must have a current DBS certificate (registered on the update service). Teaching Personnel can assist with your DBS application if needed.

Working Hours:

Monday to Friday, approximately 09:00 - 16:00.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
