Job responsibilities

The post holder will be required to:

Manage a caseload of clients- Occupational Therapy led and CareCo-ordinator led.

Provide specialist occupational therapy clinical advice and input forclients with complex problems and needs.

Ensure occupational therapy contribution to the provision of qualityclinical care and performance standards.

Participate in the planning, development and evaluation ofoccupational therapy and local multi-professional services.

Report to, or assist/advise the Team Leaders of any matters ofcomplaint.

To fully participate in the Trusts performance review and personaldevelopment planning process on an annual basis.

To provide effective guidance, supervision and appraisals for juniorstaff.Clinical ResponsibilitiesYour clinical responsibilities will be to:

Operate as a senior occupational therapy practitioner and managean appropriate complex clinical caseload. You will supported in 3-way caseload supervision with the CMHT Manager and Psychologistalongside usual clinical supervision from the MH AHP Lead.

Promote evidence based practice in occupational therapy andmental health.

Monitor, evaluate and modify treatment in order to measure progressand ensure effectiveness of interventions.

Provide clinical assessment, formulation, intervention, reviewincluding care co-ordination for service users, their families andcarers.

To critically evaluate outcomes including assessment andmanagement of risk.

To plan and implement in the provision of a range of self-maintenance vocational and leisure based activities in an individualor group setting depending on the needs of the patients and linkingwith community resources where appropriate.

To plan and implement appropriate discharge and liaison withrelevant agencies

Contribute to the development of multi-disciplinary best practiceclinical guidelines and protocols.

Ensure that up to date written and electronic records and activitydata are maintained in accordance with Professional and Truststandards and to provide specialist occupational therapy reportsrelevant to the practice setting.

To adhere to Trust risk management policies and procedures.

To champion occupational and recovery approaches within theservice area

Develop and maintain effective communication structures, facilitatingtwo-way communication on professional and Trust issues.

Provide advice to team members, clients, carers and the widernetwork.

Qualifications

Essential

HCPC registration Degree/Diploma in Occupational Therapy or equivalent

Experience

Essential

Demonstratable experience as an Occupational Therapist (NHS/Private) UK setting within last 2 years. Cognitive and psycho-social assessment skills. Complex discharge planning. Interpersonal skills
