Responsible to: Lead Surveyor

Introduction:

As a Surveyor specialising in Empty Homes, you will play a vital role in estimating property boundaries and measuring land features for construction projects, map making, mining, and legal purposes.Your work will contribute to the Council's framework of quality standards, performance targets, budgetary control, and legislative requirements. Additionally, you'll collaborate with senior management and other services to align our efforts with the Council's strategic priorities.

Responsibilities:

  1. Day-to-Day Contract Administration:
    • Agree project scope, conduct quality inspections, manage variations, and liaise with tenants.
    • Provide expert advice to all stakeholders involved in the projects.
  2. Project Development:
    • Create project briefs and scopes of work.
    • Monitor and manage budgets for projects within the void capital and maintenance investment program.
    • Occasionally, this may include Planned Surveyor projects.
  3. Maintenance Planning:
    • Assist in formulating future maintenance plans.
    • Undertake site surveys and collaborate with the Asset and Business Improvement Team.
    • Agree on appropriate estimates or target costs to set and manage the budget effectively.
  4. Team Support:
    • Provide cover and support for other Surveyors within the team and/or Property & Place.
    • Initially, your duties will align with a specific Team Leader within Property & Place.
Requirements:
  • Hold a degree in Building Surveying or a relevant field.
  • Possess a valid surveyor certificate.
  • Excellent mathematical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in CAD software, GPS, and GIS systems.
  • Effective collaboration with diverse disciplines (engineers, architects, etc.).
