Job Description:

Job Duties:

  • Provide support and assistance to primary school students with special educational needs (SEN)
  • Work closely with classroom teachers to implement individual education plans (IEPs)
  • Assist in creating a positive and inclusive learning environment
  • Help students develop their social and emotional skills
  • Observe and monitor student progress, providing feedback to teachers and parents

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum of GCSEs in English and Maths
  • Previous experience working with children with SEN
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team

Education:

  • Level 3 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools (or equivalent)

Experience:

  • Experience working in a primary school setting
  • Experience implementing SEN strategies and interventions

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Understanding of SEN principles and practises
  • Ability to adapt teaching methods to meet the needs of individual students
  • Good organisational skills and the ability to multitask

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Higher level qualification in Special Educational Needs
  • First Aid certification

Working Conditions:

  • Temporary position with the possibility of extension
  • Full-time hours, Monday to Friday
  • Work within a supportive and collaborative school environment
