Manufacturing Inspector: Utilizing top end, latest inspection technology to ensure work is completed to client specifications

This is a great opportunity for someone who has good experience working in a machining or manufacturing environment to further develop their skills. If you can read technical drawings and are looking for opportunities in an Inspection role using multiple high-end technology equipment then this is the role for you. 

Primary responsibilities Responsible for the checking of any machined parts and the recording of these results in appropriate excel spreadsheets Compile CNC programs for Vision Measuring System (QV) and Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) for a wide range of single components, sub-assemblies and assemblies Design inspection fixtures suited to our product line in order to streamline the inspection process Provide constant feedback to supervisor on dimensional variation between sequential components enabling sister tooling to be accurately assigned Bolt on with CNC machinists during any downtime in order to gain knowledge of CNC machinery operation and eventually operate machinery during busy periods Ensure that QA Cards and other associated paperwork are correctly completed Report any discrepancies/deviations from sizes/features on drawing to Supervisor Ensure that all measuring equipment/machinery is within calibration date Assist with component cleaning pre and post inspection Carry out spot checks on machine at regular intervals and ensure that machinists are monitoring tool life Carry out weekly checks on Machines and report any faults found immediately Liaise with Manufacturing TL & DTL, regarding prioritisation of parts to be inspected Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with company policies, procedures, standards and work instructions Qualifications Mechanical Apprenticeship (or equivalent) Mechanical SVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) Experience Be fully competent to carry out Machine Shop Inspection tasks Previous experience in machining (Desirable but not essential) Proficient in the use of Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft packages is essential Understanding of technical drawings - advantageous Previous Quality Control Inspection experience (Desirable but not essential) Have had previous experience or working knowledge with CMM or other similar equipment Behaviours and skills Effective communication skills Ability to work well in team and to take own initiative Commitment to continual improvement and a flexible approach to change Self motivated, enthusiastic and committed to delivering HSEQ excellence
