Eastlight Community Homes is seeking for a talented and dedicated professional to join us as a Governance Advisor

The successful candidate will be responsible for the management and execution of a comprehensive, high-quality corporate governance service, with a focus on statutory and regulatory governance issues at Executive, Board, and Committee levels.

 In this role you will:

  • Collaborate with colleagues across the organisation to ensure a consistently high standard of service to our Board, Committee members, customers, and stakeholders.
  • Assist the Governance Team in fulfilling all governance requirements, thereby ensuring that Eastlight remains compliant with prevailing regulations.
  • Develop and sustain professional relationships with Board and Committee members, as well as the Executive Management Team, Leadership Team, customers, and stakeholders.
  • Offer comprehensive secretariat support for Boards, Committees, and Working Groups, including agenda preparation, minute-taking, and follow-up on action points.
  • Assist the Governance Team in Board and Committee recruitment processes, and coordinate inductions.
  • Deputise for the Head of Governance or Senior Governance Advisor when required.
  • Support statutory registers such as Gifts & Hospitality and Assets & Liabilities.
  • Support the coordination of the Annual General Meeting and Special General Meetings.
  • Oversee Board Away Days and Strategy Sessions.
  • Administer the annual Board and Committee appraisal process.
  • Conduct horizon scanning to anticipate legal and regulatory changes.
  • Perform general administrative duties, including maintaining governance records, coordinating training and conferences.

 To be successful you will need: 

  • Proven experience in supporting governance structures and servicing Boards and Committees.
  • Well-versed in working with Non-Executive Directors and Leadership Teams.
  • ICSA part-qualified or fully qualified governance professional or equivalent experience.
  • A masterful grasp of governance administration.
  • Organisational and planning talents that can juggle multiple priorities seamlessly.
  • An eye for detail that misses nothing.
  • Superior communication skills, whether it's drafting reports or explaining complex information.
  • Unparalleled discretion and confidentiality.
  • Adaptive, innovative, resilient, and prepared to handle the pressures of a dynamic environment.
  • Technologically savvy, with proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Zoom, and Teams.

  • £35,374 annual base salary
  • Permanent Full-time Contract
  • 30 days paid annual leave plus bank holidays
