Job summary

The Royal United Hospitals Bath is committed to meeting all targets within the Referral to Treatment (RTT) patient pathway - measuring the total period waited by each patient and managing the journey from referral to treatment in a timely and efficient manner. To support this we are recruiting a full time validator.

As Deputy RTT Manager you will be joining a small but busy team who are responsible for monitoring these pathways, focusing on identifying and resolving data quality issues and ensuring that patients are treated as efficiently as possible. You will support the RTT Manager in delivery of NHSE validation targets, being responsible for a small team consisting of Senior RTT Validator and three validators.

Main duties of the job

The role of Deputy RTT Team Manager includes:

Providing line management support for the Senior RTT validator and supporting them to manage the small team of validators.Support the RTT Manager in delivery of accurate and timely information on waiting lists to support the effective management of and deputise for the RTT Manager into the Surgery, FaSS and Diagnostic DM01 meetings as required.

We are looking for someone who has exceptional organisational skills, somebody who has fantastic IT skills and the ability to pick up new applications with ease, who can demonstrate experience of being able to meet tight and varying deadlines. You should be passionate about working in the NHS and really want to make a difference to our patients lives.

Previous line management experience is useful although not essential.

You should be a great communicator and team player.

Degree level analytical/statistical qualification or equivalent experience Accurate keyboard and data manipulation skills

Experience of working to tight deadlines and reporting schedule Good understanding of national performance target Understanding of patient pathways and how clinical services are organised Understanding of the maintenance of patient confidentiality.

Desirable

Detailed knowledge of outpatient waiting list rules and definitions and ERS system. Knowledge of medical terminology In-depth knowledge and experience of effective waiting list management and PTL processes
