We are looking for a sincere and driven graduate with aspirations in Occupational Therapy, Child Development or associated therapies, to work as a Graduate Teaching Assistant for children with Autism and associated Complex Social Needs.

The role involves supporting the students with Autism and communication needs, with a tailored curriculum for each student based on their SEN needs. The school focuses on an EYFS and Primary curriculum due to the number of ASD students within each class.

Weekly training will be provided every Wednesday in 30-minute sessions. Depending on the class and the student’s need, elements of personal care may be required.

As a Graduate Teaching Assistant, you will be working with vulnerable children and understanding the base of your relationships is crucial for a career in OT or Psychology. This role brings out holistic, therapeutic, and restorative qualities and skills, all important aspects of a future role as a Qualified Therapist.

To be successful in this role, you must have a strong knowledge and understanding of safeguarding and child protection. The successful applicant must satisfy all background safer recruitment checks, including an enhanced DBS on the update service.

Key Requirements:

  • Sincere and driven graduate with aspirations in Occupational Therapy, Child Development or associated therapies.
  • Passionate and dedicated to working with vulnerable children.
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of safeguarding and child protection.
  • Able to work full-time, Monday to Friday, from 8:30 am to 4 pm.
