Yard Marshall

DescriptionWe are looking to dynamic Yard Marshall to work Monday to Friday 7am to 4.30pm with Saturdays on rotation(optional) at our recycling site on Wesley Street in Leicester to work in a fast paced environment alongside our current operations team. 

The RoleReporting to the Site Supervisor, the successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the safe operation of internal and external vehicle movements on site whilst ensuring the conformance of materials entering site and ensuring waste transfer notes are accurate and will have a flexible approach to work with the willingness to train and learn new skills if these are not already current i.e Fork Lift Truck and Mobile Plant
Key Responsibilities

• Responsible for ensuring your own health and safety and that of others and promoting a positive health and safety culture within the workplace
• Ensure all Health and safety obligations are met, and company policies are adhered to
• Report any safety concerns, hazard observations, accidents, and incidents in a timely manner to allow full investigation and prevent re-occurrence

·     Directing internal and external vehicle movements around the yard·     Control of pedestrian foot fall on site maintaining vehicle and pedestrian segregation at all times·     Ensure all drivers exiting their vehicles have the relevant PPE·     Housekeeping on the yard and surrounding areas·     Audit loads coming into yard for conformance/quality and composition analysis  ·     Ensure all materials that enter site are tipped in the correct tipping zones·     Ensure waste transfer notes are accurate and match the material it relates to·     Reporting any issues to site supervisor

Skills, Knowledge and ExpertiseThe successful candidate will be happy to work outside in all weathers with strong communication skills. Previous experience in the recycling industry is preferable but not essential. You will be expected to have good attention to detail to ensure all waste transfer notes are processed accurately.
