Teaching Personnel is currently recruiting for a Science Graduate to join one of our client schools in Manchester as a Teaching Assistant. This position is due to start in September at the beginning of the academic year and it will be full time.

The salary for this position will be between £420 and £450 per week.

They key responsibilities of this position are:

  • Assist the teachers in their preparation and delivery of lessons, including setting up any practical scientific experiments and ensuring that they are conducted in a safe manner.
  • Work with pupils on a 1:1 basis or within small groups to target the leaning needs of the pupils who are struggling in their learning development.
  • Accompanying the teacher on any external visit that will benefit the pupils’ learning.
  • Monitoring the progression of pupils that you are working closely with and giving feedback to the pupils themselves as well as the teaching staff.
  • Assisting the teacher in managing the behaviour of pupils, ensuring that there is always a safe learning environment.

For this position, it is essential that you are a recent science graduate, across any science subject. You must be willing to apply for a fully enhanced DBS check and provide at least two employment-based references. You must be fully aware of safeguarding procedures and comfortable dealing with any situation that may arise.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
