This is an exciting opportunity to lead and provide strategic vision on psychological provision in CUH’s medical Haematology Service. We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic and knowledgeable Consultant Clinical Psychologist.

This is a permanent days a week post working with CUH’s Medical Haematology Service, providing the East of England regional lead on Clinical Psychology services to people and their families requiring non-malignant haematology services including Thrombotic Thrombocytopenic Purpura (TTP).

The Psychological Medicine Service at Addenbrooke’s Hospital includes Liaison Psychiatry and Clinical Health Psychology for both adults and children. There are over Clinical Psychologists working across paediatric psychology and services for adults. Some of these posts are embedded with specialist teams and others are part of the general services.

Psychologists have a professional network within Psychological Medicine and are also part of the CPFT professional group. The service provides placements for the University of East Anglia Clinical Psychology training course.

Main duties of the job

You would be part of the Psychological Medicine Service which has expertise in a range of therapeutic modalities, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Cognitive Analytic Therapy (CAT), Interpersonal Therapy (IPT) and Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR) and there are excellent opportunities to develop skills in clinical health psychology within this well-established and dynamic service.

The Consultant Clinical Psychologist will provide regional and national expertise and consultation, as well as providing expertise on service and pathway development, research, audit and evaluation. They will deliver highly specialist psychological assessments, formulations, and evidence-based interventions for the Haematology Service. There will also be the opportunity contributes at a regional and national level to good clinical practice and the evidence base for this specialist area, as well as providing psychological expertise and consultancy to the Haematology Team.
