Do you have experience working with young people with Eating disorders? Are you looking to enhance your skills and work within a supportive and experienced team?

We are looking for a Clinical Psychologist, with the possibility of a preceptorship from band 7 to 8a (please contact us to discuss further). You will be part of our Marlborough Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS). The service is designed to provide young people and familieswith expert help and you will have a particular focus around providing psychology input into our Specialist Eating Disorder Service (TEDS).

Main duties of the job

You will be joining the TEDS team within Marlborough CAMHS, a service which is committed to adapting to meet diverse and challenging demands and to maintaining high quality specialist assessment and intervention whilst being mindful of throughput, innovation and efficiencies.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, personable, and resourceful individual who is committed to supporting developing services as part of a multi-disciplinary team. You will need excellent communication and organisational skills, and a keenness to be part of a busy and vibrant pathway.

This is an exciting post and would suit someone who has experience in working with people with an Eating Disorder. There will be many opportunities for further training in relevant evidenced based interventions as well as regular supervision from skilled and experienced clinicians.

Marlborough TEDS is one of the five TEDS teams across BSW and these together with the Wiltshire Community Adult Eating Disorder Service WCEDS, form the All Age Eating Disorder Service- BSW. There are strong links between all six teams with whole service away days, group working and innovative approaches to transitions ensuring high quality of care for children and young people and adults experiencing an eating disorder in BSW.

Job responsibilities

To ensure the systematic provision of a high quality specialist psychology service to clients with complex mental health problems including severe, enduring and multiple disorders, and challenging behaviour. To offer consultation and supervision, and support the work of other service staff and psychology clinical team members providing psychologically based care and treatment, according to expertise. To provide training placements for Doctoral Trainee psychologists, a range of qualified and unqualified staff across mental health areas, as agreed. To work autonomously within professional guidelines and the overall framework of the teams policies and procedures. To utilise research skills for audit, and contribute to research and training within the areas served by the teams and service. To be involved in service developments, as appropriate.
