Main duties of the job

General duties of a Catering Assistant roleincludes

Tofollow food & beverage handling procedures, in accordance with national andlocal regulations.

Undertakestock management, receipt and delivery of stock, reporting any discrepancies ordamaged goods to Supervisors.

Maintainthe appropriate knowledge and skills to safely and effectively perform all food& beverage tasks.

Maintain a clean, tidy and hygienicappearance. Ensuring that theappropriate protective clothing is worn at all times.

Distribution, delivery and serviceof food and beverages to wards and departments.

Ensuring all equipment, workingareas, including storerooms, refrigerators and freezers are kept in a clean andhygienic condition and that good hygienic practices are established andmaintained at all times.

Carry out any other duties whichare deemed reasonable and in line with the banding of the post.

Providinga food and beverage service including catering for special events to patient,staff and visitors.

Preparing,assembling and packing meals for patients and staff.

Collection, segregation anddisposal of waste materials, in accordance with policies.

Shift pattern

20 hours - Monday to Sunday 4pm - 8pm 3 week roster

CHoICE Catering Services are provided at Sunderland Royal Hospital & SunderlandEye Infirmary.
