As our Principal UI Artist, you will play a key role in shaping the artistic direction and visual identity of our games through innovative and immersive user interface designs. You will collaborate with a talented team of artists, game designers, and developers to craft exceptional player experiences. Your expertise in UI/UX design and your ability to provide leadership will be instrumental in delivering high-quality and visually stunning UI assets that enhance the overall player experience.

Key Duties Include

  • Collaborate with the game design, art direction, and development teams to understand project requirements and define the artistic vision for UI designs.
  • Create industry-leading UI designs, including menus, HUDs, icons, buttons, and other interactive components that align with the artistic direction and narrative of the game.
  • Lead and mentor a team of UI artists, providing artistic guidance, feedback, and support in delivering high-quality UI concepts.
  • Develop and maintain UI style guides, ensuring consistency and cohesiveness throughout the project.
  • Prototype and iterate UI concepts, taking into consideration player feedback and usability testing.
  • Collaborate with engineers to implement UI designs into the game engine, considering technical limitations and performance requirements.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, UI/UX best practices, and advancements in game UI design to continually push the boundaries of innovation.

Requirements

  • Extensive experience as a UI artist in the games industry, with a strong portfolio showcasing your expertise in creating visually stunning UI designs for AAA games.
  • Expert knowledge of UI/UX design principles and best practices, with a proven ability to translate complex ideas into intuitive and immersive user interfaces.
  • Proficiency in industry-standard design tools such as Adobe Creative Suite, Sketch, or Figma.
  • Strong leadership skills and the ability to mentor and inspire a team of artists.
  • A deep understanding of player psychology and behaviors, and the ability to create UI experiences that engage and captivate players.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to effectively communicate artistic vision and provide constructive feedback to team members.
  • A passion for video games and a dedication to pushing the boundaries of UI/UX innovation.
  • Experience working with modern game engines such as Unreal Engine or Unity.
