Job summary

Full-Time Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner

The post-holder will work within the NHS Talking Therapies service providing high quality assessments, low intensity cognitive behavioural treatment interventions, guided self-help, a psychoeducational groups to patients with mild to moderate anxiety and depression.

The post holder will work with people with different cultural backgrounds and ages, using interpreters when necessary and should be committed to equal opportunities.

The post-holder will work to a hybrid delivery model, working remotely and in-person from our base at Thurrock Health Centre and/or a range of community venues in Thurrock. PWPs should be registered with BABCP or BPS as per new National requirements, or willing to register within the first six months of employment.

Main duties of the job

The Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner will work under the supervision of the Step 2 Senior and Lead PWPs to ensure that accurate work is completed within the time limits, framework and standards set.

The duties and responsibilities of the post will be undertaken in accordance with the policies, procedures and quality management systems of Inclusion and MPFT. It is the post holder's responsibility to ensure they keep up to date with these policies and other procedural documents

Person Specification

Qualifications

Essential

Low intensity worker/psychological well-being practitioner qualification Registration as a wellbeing practitioner with the BABCP or BPS

Experience

Essential

Experience of working as a PWP in an IAPT/Talking Therapies service Experience of routine outcome monitoring Experience of working in the local community

Desirable

Experience of working with clients with physical health problems and/or their carers

Knowledge

Essential

Demonstrates an understanding of anxiety and depression and how it may present in primary care Demonstrates a knowledge of the issues surrounding work and the impact it can have on mental health/benefits & employment systems Knowledge of child protection issues, safeguarding and other relevant legislation

Desirable

Knowledge of medication used in anxiety and depression and other common mental health problems Demonstrates an understanding for the need to use evidence based psychological therapies and how it relates to this post

Skills/Abilities
