Two exciting opportunities have arisen to join the administrative team of the Outwood Institute of Education (OIE) based at our Doncaster Conference Centre.

The OIE is entering an exciting period of transformation as it seeks to implement its new workstream model, centred around its key purpose to: recruit, retain, develop and deploy colleagues across the organisation. We are also excited to have full operational use of our new facilities at Redcar (co-located with Outwood Academy Redcar) which include a 100-seat conference theatre, a spacious event room, two dedicated training suites and a conference suite, all fitted with the latest audio/visual equipment.

The OIE is responsible for:

the delivery of high quality professional development for governors, teaching and support staff the deployment of school improvement capacity both internally and as part of local school-to-school the development of the local governance and community strategies the fostering of external partnerships including with the National Institute of Teaching (NIoT), Yorkshire & Humber Maths Hub and Outwood English Hub the recruitment of initial trainee teachers (ITTs) through Teach Outwood, in partnership with the NIoT

The vision for the OIE is simple: to be the heartbeat of our organisation. These roles will be pivotal during an exciting period of transformation. You will play a crucial role in shaping, developing and embedding the work of the OIE's new workstream model. Together with providing operational support to the wider work of the OIE, you will also facilitate the work of either the Yorkshire & Humber Maths Hub or Outwood English Hub through providing effective administration, under the direction of the respective Hub Lead. 

One of the 40 Maths Hubs serving England, the Yorkshire & Humber Maths Hub’s core purpose is to help schools and colleges to lead improvement in mathematics education through seeking to harness the maths leadership and expertise within the area, to develop and spread excellent practice, for the benefit of all students. This is achieved through the delivery of face-to-face CPD, online support and collaborative projects. To find out more visit .

The Outwood English Hub is one of 34 designated English Hubs in the country responsible for helping primary school leaders to evaluate their teaching of early reading to improve outcomes for all children, especially in Reception and Year 1, and for older pupils who have not yet mastered the foundations of reading. You will have previous experience in administrative roles, be highly organised and have excellent written and verbal communication skills. You will be a confident user of word processing, spreadsheet and email software.

The roles will require an ability to work flexible hours to meet the needs of the Conference Centre. They will also involve occasional travel to other schools/sites within the Trust as well as external venues.
