Job overview

A wonderful opportunity has arisen for a Nurse to run our ENT out-patient clinics on our Winchester site. The ideal person will be an enthusiastic hard working person. In addition to this, excellent communication skills are essential, as is the love of people and a willingness to put the patient at the centre of all they do. 

This role is for a highly motivated individual who is able to understand patients with complex needs. Working well within a team, communication, organisational and dexterity skills are key to this role.

Development of staff is key to running our service effectively and we will invest our time in developing you.

Main duties of the job

To Support the ENT team in delivering high quality care within the service, supporting the team in the delivery of a seven day, twenty-four hour service for which you are responsible for or have been delegated the responsibility, this includes:

High standards of Professional Practice to ensure quality and safety of patient care, experience and the patient Specialised clinical practice, knowledge, skills and To manage clinics timely and effectively as per the standards set out by the trust. To maintain high standards in infection prevention and manage decontamination and sterilization of equipment. Supporting the Team Leader in the Productivity and Financial management of a clinical Leading by example Supporting and contributing to the team in ensuring that clinical services are delivered to a high quality of care and that all compliance requirements such as CQC and contractual requirements are achieved. Effective leadership and development of the team

Training & Qualifications

Essential criteria

Degree level education or equivalent knowledge and skills gained through any combination of alternative study, or employment experience Post registration qualification(s) in field of expertise Level 3 Certificate/Diploma in Management and Leadership, or equivalent eg NVQ 3 Teaching and Assessing Qualification or equivalent study or work experience

Desirable criteria

Additional Post graduate learning in specialist field including masters degree or working towards Member of relevant special interest group

Experience and Ability

Essential criteria

Evidence of Continued Professional Development (CPD) clearly recorded for professional profile Experience of staff supervision including workforce budgets and staff development planning Evidence of significant post registration clinical work experience Involvement in project team for developing and implementing departmental business plans and/or organisation wide developments

Desirable criteria

Experience of project management for policy development or large scale projects

Skills & Ability

Essential criteria

Clinical Skills appropriate to the relevant speciality Advanced communication skills including; to communicate complex, sensitive or confidential information in an appropriate manner; to liaise effectively; to understand and disseminate multifaceted information Understanding of effective clinical governance including implications, quality and audit Computer Literate

Desirable criteria

Highly specialist clinical skills across the relevant speciality Customer Service experience i.e. dealing with complaints
