Job Description

  • Monitor, review and champion health and safety, food safety and allergen management processes.
  • Ensure Company policies align with local regulations as well as industry best practices.
  • Review accident and incident reports to ensure the necessary corrective actions have been taken following an accident or near miss.
  • Review safety performance, identify trends and report monthly to Head of Safety & OD.
  • QA audits.
  • Mobilisations support
  • Proactive location support visits
  • Attendance at Operations & Client Meetings
  • Allergy, accident, food safety investigations
  • Follow up on third-party and client audits.
  • Support with EHO interventions
  • Influence operational teams, location managers and senior chefs offering sound guidance in improving safety performance & compliance with company policy.
  • Ensure all accident and audit action plans are closed in a timely manner.
  • Work with the wider Food, Health & Safety Team to review and develop safety documentation, projects, training, and safety initiatives.

Ensure correct DPS are listed and updated as and when changes occur.


Qualifications

  • Appropriate food safety and health & safety qualifications
  • BSc/MSc Environmental Health (desired)
  • Proven experience in food safety management, preferably in environmental health, the contract catering or hospitality industry.
  • In-depth knowledge of relevant food safety regulations and standards.
  • Ability to lead and influence a positive food safety culture.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Analytical skills for incident investigation and risk assessment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and compliance systems.
  • Ability to remain positive, tactful, and calm in challenging situations
  • Flexible and adaptable to change
  • Demonstrates sound work ethics
  • Comfortable with regular travel across Scotland.
