Due to significant growth and contract winsOCU Services (part of the wider OCU Group) has new opportunitiesfor an experienced SHE Advisor to join our HSE Team. The purpose ofthe role is to provide Health Safety & Environmentalinformation within our Telecoms Division. You will be based at ourErith office visiting our sites acrossLondon.

Duties andResponsibilities

  • Notifyany changes in your duties to all others who may be affected bythese changes.
  • Shall ensure strict adherence tothe reporting and recording procedures for accidents and dangerousoccurrences as required under RIDDOR as directed by the SHEManager.
  • Shall be responsible for providingspecialist advice on the companys safety policy and procedures andcompliance with statutory obligations throughout thecompany.
  • Shall monitor arrangements to ensurethat health and safety standards applied by contractors aresatisfactory and in accordance with contractual arrangementscompany specifications policy andprocedures.
  • Shall ensure that site employeeswork in accordance with the companys health and safety requirementspolicys and procedures along with those of itsClients.
  • Shall recommend disciplinaryprocedures where any member of site supervisory staff fails todischarge their safety responsibilitiessatisfactorily.
  • Shall take appropriate actionwhen notified of disregard of safety onsite.
  • Shall ensure the provision of a safe andhealthy working environment for persons working in or visiting anycompany operation site and/or premises.
  • Shallmonitor provision and effectiveness of adequate and existingwelfare facilities.
  • Promote the reporting ofnear misses throughout the company.
  • You arerequired to work at any site on which the Company operates asauthorised and as determined by the needs of the business. You willnot be required to work outside the UnitedKingdom.

RequiredQualifications

  • NCRQlevel 6 / NVQ level 6 / NEBOSHdiploma
  • Minimum 5 years experienceworking in the utilities sector ( Power sector preferred)
  • Minimum 5 years experience Working within LiveSubstations ( Desirable)
  • Experience workingwith management systems and the NERS Accreditation ( Desirable )
  • Experience working in DNOs and IDNOs
  • EUSR or CSCS in General Health and Safety
  • Proficient in compiling reports
  • MUST HOLD CURRENT FULL UK DRIVERS LICENSE
