Job summary

We are seeking dedicated Healthcare Assistant, with experience of working within a GP Primary Care environment, to join our nursing team. The ideal candidate will work under the direct supervision of our Advanced Nurse Practitioner and strictly in accordance with specific practice guidelines and protocols.

This Part-Time HCA role offers a permanent contract to the successful candidate, working a minimum of 16 hours, up to a maximum of 20 hours per week. The hours can be negotiable, however, you will not be required to work on Wednesdays, but will be required to work on both Thursdays and Fridays.

Chaperoning duties

Processing and management of laboratory samples requested by GPs/nurses

Sterilising, cleansing and maintenance of surgical equipment

Clearing and re-stocking consulting rooms

Preparing and maintaining environments and equipment before, during and after patient care interventions, including assisting GPs during the performance of minor operations

Assisting in the assessment and surveillance of patients health and well-being

Helping to raise awareness of health and well-being and how it can be promoted

About us

We are a friendly medical practice, with a current list size of just over 9000 patients, based in Seaton, East Devon. We have 6 GP Partners, a salaried GP as well as other healthcare professionals and admin staff. Our Nursing Team consists of 2 x Nurse Practitioners, 2 x Practice Nurses and Healthcare Assistants.

We work is a modern, comfortable building and offer good staff benefits including NHS pension, cycle to work scheme and Blue Light card. We actively support staff wellbeing and encourage feedback through regular team meetings.
