Role: SEMH/SEN Teaching Assistant
Location: Stoke-on-Trent
Hours: Monday to Friday

 

We are currently seeking an experienced SEN/SEMH Teaching Assistant to join us at Connex Education to support pupils with complex SEN/SEMH needs. This role offers a challenging but rewarding environment where you will play a vital part in ensuring the pupil has the support they need to thrive.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Help Deliver personalised 1:1 assistance to students with SEMH SEN needs, ensuring engagement and progress in their learning.
  • Develop and adapt lesson plans to suit individual learning styles and needs.
  • Support students’ social and emotional development alongside their academic progress.
  • Create a safe, supportive, and encouraging learning environment.
  • Collaborate with parents, carers, and other professionals to ensure cohesive support.

 

Essential

  • Experience of assisting pupils with severe learning difficulties and/or Autism Spectrum Conditions
  • Ability to motivate and inspire learners
  • A clear vision and understanding of the requirements of pupils with special educational needs
  • Ability to work with parents as partners
  • Personal resilience
