This is an exciting opportunity for a Housekeeper to join the inpatient CAMHS team.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, reliable, hardworking, housekeeper who will work as an integral part of the ward team ensuring a clean, safe and comfortable environment at all times.

Applicants must have excellent communication and organisational skills and be able to work under non-direct supervision, prioritising your own workload. It is necessary to have a flexible approach within this role and be able to respond appropriately to the demands of an ever changing workload.

Main duties of the job

You will need excellent interpersonal skills, as you will be liaising with and helping patients throughout the working day. You will also be required to communicate with all levels of staff both face to face and over the telephone.

The post holder will be expected to take ownership of the stock levels within the ward, to include ordering of stock.

You will be required to work alongside other housekeepers in the team in order to provide an efficient service. You will be expected to work shifts inclusive of weekends and evenings within a rota system.

Person Specification

Qualifications

Essential

Level 2 or GSCE C grade or above in Maths and English Language or Assessment of equivalent level through achieving required pass mark of numeracy and literacy test

Desirable

Level 2 qualification in health-related subject

Knowledge and Nature of Experience

Essential

Experience working with the public Good command of the English language Evidence of being highly motivated and enthusiastic To be empathetic to staff and families

Desirable

Experience working in a health care environment

Analytical and Judgement Skills

Essential

To be able to work to plan and adjust workload according to service demand.

Planning and Organisational Skills

Essential

Able to organise workload and work well with the team. Excellent attendance record and evidence of being trustworthy and reliable. Able to manage preset stock levels. Able to manage personal emails. Able to use the necessary IT systems as required.

Physical and Other Skills

Essential

This role requires physical fitness, lifting, bending, walking, reaching, standing. Tidy and smart appearance Evidence of being reliable and punctual. Demonstrate alignment with the values and beliefs of the Trust. Demonstrate an understanding of the practices of equality and inclusion in the delivery of this role. Team working. Punctual and flexible across hours of work when required.
