Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Fracture Clinic Team as an Extended Scope Practitioner. This post will involve working as a high-level practitioner with advanced clinical skills within the trauma multidisciplinary team, primarily to ensure that patients receive holistic, timely and high-quality clinical care. You will provide specialist management and advice for patients with fractures and soft tissue pathologies. The role will also include working as part of the virtual fracture clinic service.

The post holder will work autonomously in delivering clinics alongside Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeons, providing initial assessment and diagnosis, identifying and interpreting appropriate investigations, listing for surgical and therapeutic procedures and the follow up of patients.

The successful candidate will have significant experience of managing patients with a wide range of acute musculoskeletal conditions; have post-graduate qualifications relevant to the position and demonstrable, high level clinical reasoning skills. The post holder will be self-motivated, enthusiastic, have excellent communication and leadership skills, and be able to work independently and as part of a multi-disciplinary team.

Working Pattern: hours per week. Worked over 5 days per week.

Pay: The salary advertised for this position reflects the Agenda for Change 2024-5 rates, inclusive of a pay award implemented from October 2024. If you join before this date, the pay award will be backdated to April 2024 or your start date, whichever is later. Until then, remuneration will be based on the 2023-4 pay bandings (Pay scales for 2023/24 | NHS Employers).
