Job summary

This new role within the CRN Direct Delivery Team has been developed in response to the evolving research landscape. You will be part of a team responding in an innovative manner to national and local priorities.

As part of the research team you will be involved in studies across a wide range of specialties increasing recruitment to research and growing the research portfolio into new clinical areas. You will be responsible for delivering studies helping change NHS treatments and patients lives for the better.

Main duties of the job

The successful candidate will join an enthusiastic team and will be responsible for supporting the day to day running of NIHR Portfolio studies. These include all aspects of patient identification, recruitment and follow up of participants in addition to any study specific procedures. You will be responsible for managing your portfolio in a patient focus manner and growing future opportunities for studies in you specialty. A key part of the role will be to liaise with all members of the multi-disciplinary team across departments therefore you must possess excellent organisational, interpersonal and communication skills and demonstrate good attention to detail.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

Research experience would be advantageous but not essential, all necessary training and support will be provided. The post will provide the unique opportunity of working across specialties (T&O, ENT, ophthalmology, Surgery and other clinical areas) this post will also include responding to national research priorities by liaising and working alongside our colleagues in the local CRN.

Be proficient with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Access etc) Be willing to work flexibly in terms of hours and duties to meet service needs. Previous practical experience of clinical trials/research will be an asset but not essential.

For the right candidate a band 5 developmental post would be considered.
