Job summary
As a CNS Vascular Access nurse you will be providing a specialist nursing advice to support and facilitate high quality, individualised care to patients/ clients with CKD and relatives/ carers vascular access needs without supervision and in collaboration with the multi-disciplinary team in line with local and national targets.
You will provide specialist nursing care and support to the Vascular access service. This will involve dealing with complex situations and having to take appropriate action in a variety of settings
To be flexible in the approach to the clinical area and to provide cover for the dialysis service acting as professional role model providing direct and indirect clinical care, teaching and research
Main duties of the job

Education/Qualifications
Essential
Registered Nurse Working toward a relevant degree (level 6) Teaching and Assessing qualification or equivalent teaching experience Post registration experience in a relevant area with experience of change management.
Desirable
Has attained a relevant Degree (level 6) Leadership qualification
Experience
Essential
Significant post registration experience in specialty area (haemodialysis) and experience in either junior specialty role or team leader/ward management role Experience with managing patient relevant to specialist area Ability to work within a team and independently Proven teaching and assessing skills
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities
Essential
Demonstrate commitment through involvement in Trust wide initiatives/committees. Able to demonstrate highly developed specialist knowledge of own patient group Good IT skills, Understanding of office Works suite including PowerPoint Evidence of continuing professional development-
