Job summary

Do you have an interest in working as a specialist dietitian within nutrition support and gastroenterology?

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a HCPC registered Dietitian to become a permanent member of our friendly and supportive dietetic team at the Royal Derby Hospital site. You will be central in the delivery of a comprehensive and effective evidence based dietetic service to inpatients and outpatients under the care of nutrition support and gastroenterology clinical specialist services.

You will be an integral part of our flexible and inclusive team supported by our experienced specialist dietitians and dietetic assistants.

You will be responsible for providing the dietetic service to specialist inpatient wards as well as regular gastrointestinal dietetic outpatient clinics. You will also provide education to a range of healthcare staff within the Trust. You will be expected to hold responsibility for your own caseload, demonstrating good skills in prioritisation and delegation. The dietetic team work closely with several multi-disciplinary teams and has excellent management support.

Main duties of the job

The post-holder is responsible for providing dietetic assessment, management and treatment for a variety of nutritional issues in both the inpatient and outpatient setting.

You will provide regular supervision to junior members of the team.

The department is committed to student training and is approved for A, B and C placements therefore you will be involved in the training of student Dietitians.
